Heavy Machinery Operator for Darwin Ship Lift Project

At Hall Contracting, we are seeking an experienced Heavy Machinery Operator to join our team on the Darwin Ship Lift project.
This is a permanent full-time position that requires working on a 20:10 roster with day and night shifts. The successful candidate will have a current Excavator ticket and proven experience operating large excavators in a high-production environment.
The Northern Territory Government is delivering the largest ship lift in Northern Australia, and this project presents an exciting opportunity for candidates to be part of a major infrastructure development.
Key Responsibilities- Operate large excavators safely and efficiently to meet project deadlines.
- Liaise with site management and follow directives to ensure seamless project execution.
- Work autonomously and as part of a team to achieve project goals.
- Maintain a strong work ethic and adhere to company policies and procedures.
- Current Excavator ticket.
- Proven experience operating large excavators in a high-production environment.
- Experience working on barges.
- Marine experience/qualifications (e.g., previous deckhand roles).
- Ability to work on a 20:10 roster with day and night shifts.
- Ability to liaise with and follow site management directives.
- Strong work ethic with the ability to work autonomously as well as in a team environment.
- Strong organisational, multitasking, and prioritisation skills.
- Ability to work unsupervised and meet deadlines.
We offer competitive rates for this position, estimated to be around $150,000 - $200,000 per annum, depending on experience. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to develop your skills and progress your career with a reputable marine and civil contractor.
