About the Role

The Urbex division of BMD Group is seeking a skilled Financial Accountant to join their team. This role will involve supporting the month-end and year-end accounting processes, maintaining the general ledger, and preparing financial models for all projects.

The successful applicant will be responsible for:

  • Maintenance and reconciliation of the general ledger and trial balance.
  • Maintenance and (at least monthly) updating of financial models.
  • Preparation of monthly and yearly accounts for business reporting requirements.
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly management and board reports.
  • Assist with preparation of yearly and periodic budgets and cash flow forecasts.
  • Ensure the accuracy and timely preparation of all cash reports/schedules required by BMD Group Treasury.
  • Manage and monitor bank and loan accounts.
  • Implement and maintain property settlement registers for internal and joint venture projects as required.
  • Preparation and posting of property settlement journals as required.
  • Assist with half-yearly and yearly audit process.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree in business (Finance/Accounting) / Commerce / Property Economics is essential.
  • Minimum 5 years post-graduate experience in a commercially focused role.
  • Possesses strong commercial judgement with high-level financial modelling skills (Excel).
  • Ability to establish and maintain relationships across different functions in the business.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Commitment to a high work standard and work ethic.
  • Confidence in communicating with internal and external stakeholders.
