
Graduate Mental Health Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Occupational Therapist or Social Worker to join our multidisciplinary team.
- Key responsibilities include providing evidence-based assessment, intervention, counselling, and group work to children, adolescents, and their families.
- The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering care that promotes recovery and wellbeing, aligned with relevant policies, procedures, and professional standards.
- Participation in a structured one-year developmental program, including supervision, reflective learning days, and coordinated learning of CAMHS Competencies is also required.
- Applicants should have the ability to apply developing knowledge and skills in child and adolescent mental health to clinical practice under supervision.
- Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, agencies, and community organisations to ensure coordinated consumer care is essential.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- An appropriate degree or equivalent qualification which entitles registration as an Occupational Therapist with the relevant governing body (Occupational Therapy Board of Australia).
- Or: An appropriate degree or equivalent qualification which gives eligibility for full membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills are necessary.
- A high degree of responsibility and supervision and direction commensurate with experience is expected.
- The ability to deliver clinical assessments of a complex nature for children, adolescents, and their families experiencing mental health concerns, drawing on a range of theoretical models and approaches is crucial.
- Proven experience working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and engaging with other agencies and professional groups to design, implement, and evaluate therapeutic or preventative programs is highly valued.
