Job Opportunity

The Resilience and Recovery Division is seeking an experienced professional to join their team as a Program Advisor.

  • Work with the GIS team to deliver high-quality cartographic products, web mapping, and analytical products, capturing, extracting, processing, storing, analyzing, and manipulating business data to produce locational intelligence metrics and data visualization products.
  • Maintain governance policies, standards, and procedures for spatial technology and support the GIS team in acquiring and processing geospatial data.
  • Develop effective relationships with other divisions within QRA to facilitate outcomes and support a work environment that values individual and team performance and continuous improvement.

This role reports directly to the Manager, Geographical Information Systems. The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic and agile workforce ready to respond to disaster priorities.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Deliver cartographic products, web mapping, and analytical products using geographic information systems (GIS) technology.
  2. Maintain governance policies, standards, and procedures for spatial technology.
  3. Support the GIS team in acquiring and processing geospatial data.
  4. Develop effective working relationships with other divisions within QRA.
  5. Contribute to creating a positive and inclusive work environment.
Requirements:
  • Postgraduate degree in a relevant field such as geography, environmental science, or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience working with GIS technology, including software such as ArcGIS.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate complex ideas effectively.
  • Excellent collaboration and interpersonal skills.
