About the Role

As an Aircrew Officer with CHC Group Australia (Crew), you will be part of a dynamic team responsible for providing search and rescue services in various onshore and offshore environments. Your primary role will be to ensure the safe and efficient management of the aircraft's rear cabin and during flying operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform Search and Rescue, Emergency Medical, Rappelling, Sling Loading, Passenger Transport, and Winching Operations
  • Manage the aircraft's rear cabin and ensure the safe transportation of personnel and equipment
  • Collaborate with the aircraft captain to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the aircraft
  • Work in a fast-paced environment, often under stressful conditions, to respond to emergency situations
  • Participate in proficiency training and maintain physical fitness and resilience to work under pressure
Requirements
  • Current CASA – Class II medical
  • Current Provide Advanced Resuscitation and Oxygen (HLTAID015)
  • Current Provide First Aid (HLTAID011)
  • Flight Radiotelephone Operators License (current)
  • CASA approved hoist endorsement under CASR PART 133/13
Desirable Qualifications
  • Cert IV in Aviation (CASA compliance)
  • SAR/EMS Experience
  • Helicopter Underwater Escape Training (H.U.E.T) & Emergency Breathing Systems (EBS)
  • SLS Bronze Medallion & Certificate II Public Safety (Aquatic Rescue)
  • NVIS qualified & Night Operation Experience
  • FLIR imagery systems Experience
Skills and Experience
  • Possess a current class 1 driver's license
  • Be over 18yrs of age at time of selection
  • Minimum 500hrs aircrew experience
  • Pass Company physical fitness assessments as required
  • Effective communication, planning, and organisation skills
  • Excellent critical thinking skills
  • Working knowledge of all relevant IT systems
  • Ability to multitask and manage priorities in a complex and urgent environment
