About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Corporate Finance professional to join our team at SGS Société Générale de Surveillance SA. As a key member of our Corporate Finance team, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Regional Head of Corporate Finance – Asia Pacific, to build out the Corporate Finance business in Australia.

Key Responsibilities
  • Origination and Execution: Originate new business opportunities and execute M&A and Equity Private Placement transactions in the Energy Transition sector, covering Asia Pacific with a key focus on Australia.
  • Leadership and Coordination: Hold a key leadership/coordination role in the transaction execution process on a day-to-day basis, ensuring seamless collaboration with internal stakeholders and external clients.
  • Financial Modeling and Analysis: Perform financial modeling, including valuation and pricing analyses, to support deal execution and client engagement.
  • Presentation and Communication: Prepare and deliver high-quality presentations, pitchbooks, and marketing materials to clients and stakeholders.
  • Business Development and Client Relationships: Drive the initiation of new client relationships and expand the business franchise across industries, leveraging market intelligence and commercial acumen.
  • Team Management and Development: Provide guidance and development of junior team members, including appropriate delegation and review of tasks.
  • Market Intelligence and Connectivity: Maintain strong connectivity with the market, understanding the needs of different corporate clients and industry groups, and leveraging market intelligence to provide feedback internally and improve capabilities within the team.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's or master's Degree or equivalent, with at least 6 years of relevant experience in M&A or Investment Banking.
  • Technical Skills: Strong technical knowledge of M&A transactions, modeling, and analytics, with proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, particularly PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Behavioral Competencies: Ability to build and maintain trusted client relationships, with demonstrable communication skills, analytical skills, and commercial acumen.
