We are seeking a motivated and customer-focused Trade Counter Operator to join our team at our Silverwater branch.

This is a hands-on, customer-facing role where you will be the first point of contact for trade and industrial customers—helping them find the right products, placing orders, and providing solutions that keep their businesses moving.

You will work closely with both our Sales and Operations teams to ensure every customer interaction—whether in person, over the phone, or via email—is a positive one.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Serving trade and industrial customers at the front counter and over the phone
  • Processing cash sales, quotes, and orders accurately
  • Managing stock levels
  • Merchandising
  • Handling customer enquiries and providing tailored product advice
  • Building strong relationships with regular trade customers
  • Receiving stock and checking invoices
  • Supporting general admin and sales tasks as needed
Requirements
  • Experience in retail or trade counter sales, ideally in an industrial, hardware, or manufacturing environment
  • Strong over-the-counter customer service skills with a focus on building rapport
  • Confident communication and problem-solving abilities
  • Good attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Experience with Microsoft Office; SAP knowledge is a bonus
  • A team player who's reliable, proactive, and ready to learn
