As a Cafe team member, you will be expected to provide excellent customer service. You should be committed to greeting customers, answering their questions, taking orders and payments, and preparing and serving food and drinks.

Key responsibilities include welcoming customers, informing them about specials or new items, answering questions, accepting orders and payments, and packing food and beverages for sale. Additionally, you will be responsible for preparing foods such as sandwiches, wraps or baked goods, grinding and blending coffee beans, brewing coffee and tea, and serving items to customers.

Other key tasks include cleaning and restocking work and dining areas, emptying trash, sanitizing equipment and utensils, learning about brewing methods, beverage blends, food preparation, and presentation techniques to improve food quality. You will also be responsible for updating signage and displays to attract customers, taking inventory and replenishing items in display cases, at tables, or behind the counter, and working as part of a fun, high-energy team.

Requirements include experience in food and beverage preparation and customer service, training and willingness to continue learning about food and beverage preparation, exceptional listening and communication skills, ability to walk, bend, and stand for extended periods, and availability to work around peak hours, including evenings, early mornings, weekends, and holidays. A polite, engaging personality with a 'Can Do' attitude, commitment to customer satisfaction and service excellence, and willingness to work as part of a high-energy, efficient team in a fast-paced environment are essential.

  • Operation of POS system and EFTPOS machines effectively and efficiently.
  • Prepare food and beverage reports as required.
  • Settle EFTPOS machine and seal takings in a security bag at the end of the shift.
  • Report any issues (i.e. maintenance) to the supervisor.
  • Multitasking and assisting other sections where required.
