Job Description

As a dedicated and fashion-forward Design Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the design team with product samples, administration, fit, storyboards, and range concepts.

  • Develop range concepts in collaboration with the design team.
  • Attend fittings to ensure continuity of style development.
  • Participate in all fit meetings and other related discussions impacting range development.
  • Select trims for the range, ensuring brand look and values are maintained.
  • Conceptualize creative ideas for pre-sell or sell presentations.
  • Develop monthly storyboards incorporating mood and color themes.
  • SOURCE and DEVELOP fabrics as required.
  • Liaise with suppliers to monitor development, availability, lead-time, and costs.

Requirements and Qualifications
  • Tertiary qualification in Fashion or Textiles is preferred.
  • Experience with illustration software packages.
  • Similar experience in a design-led role within the fashion industry would be advantageous.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
