Key Responsibilities- Develop and Implement Cultural Engagement Strategies: Lead and develop the delivery of innovative engagement and communication strategies to promote recruitment of First Nations Peoples, including the First Nations Recruitment Pathway Program (FNRPP).
- Provide Cultural Guidance and Advice: Provide advice and expert guidance to senior management and workgroups on a broad range of First Nations workforce matters, including building a culturally safe workplace for First Nations employees.
- Design and Implement Employee Engagement Strategies: Design and implement effective employee engagement strategies, practices, and processes in response to evidence-based issues impacting First Nations employees.
- Build Partnerships and Relationships: Lead and develop partnerships across government and broader stakeholders to ensure greater relationships and representation of First Nations employees in the public sector and in leadership and decision-making roles.
- Develop First Nations Education and Training Opportunities: Develop and drive First Nations education, training, recruitment, and retention opportunities within the Queensland Police Service.
- Prepare and Deliver Reports and Briefs: Prepare and deliver a range of written material including high-level reports, submissions, business cases, executive briefs, and reports.
- Identify Emerging Trends and Issues: Identify and monitor emerging trends and issues relating to First Nations education and training within the Queensland Police Service and provide expert strategic advice regarding First Nations education and training products to ensure authentic learning.
- Mentor and Foster Career Guidance: Mentor and foster career guidance to First Nations members of the Queensland Police Service.
- This is an identified position. It is a genuine occupational requirement that an Identified position be filled by a First Nations person as permitted by, and arguable under Section 25, 104 and 105 of the Queensland Anti-Discrimination Act.
- Possession of skills and experience in an accredited tertiary qualification in adult education would be highly regarded.
- May be required to travel.
