Karara Mining Limited (KML) is an Ansteel Group company formed as a joint venture with Gindalbie Metals Limited. One of the largest iron ore producers and steel makers in China, Ansteel brings significant experience to Karara's operations.

The Opportunity

We seek an experienced Operations Excellence Manager to join our Assets and Projects team, responsible for delivering high-quality project outcomes, optimising mine processing plant performance, and driving continuous improvement across the business.

To succeed in this role, applicants must have a strong mechanical trade background, combined with experience in project coordination, construction, and mining operations.

This full-time position operates on a 8 days on, 6 days off roster, with the option to fly-in-fly-out from Perth or drive-in-drive-out from Geraldton.

Key requirements include:

  • A relevant Trade qualification (Mechanical or Civil)
  • A valid WA C Class Drivers Licence
  • Demonstrated experience supervising and coordinating mining construction projects
  • In-depth technical knowledge of fixed plant equipment and performance optimisation
  • Schedule 26 Appointed Persons accreditation
  • Proficiency in using SAP software
  • National Police clearance

To be eligible for this role, applicants must hold permanent residency in Australia.

Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Operations Excellence Manager to join Karara Mining's Assets and Projects team, delivering high-quality project outcomes and driving continuous improvement across the business.

About Karara Mining

Located 200 km south-east of Geraldton in Western Australia, Karara has an expected mine life of 30+ years. The operation includes a large open pit mine, complex ore processing and beneficiation plant, and significant infrastructure and logistics networks.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Project Delivery Manager to:

  • Manage and coordinate all short- and long-term capital projects to ensure effective and efficient project execution
  • Develop and implement proactive maintenance strategies to improve asset reliability and reduce maintenance costs
  • Provide support to operational teams, including project logistics and coordination
  • Assess and investigate project deviations, identifying opportunities for cost reduction and improved performance
