About the RoleWe are seeking experienced academics to join our team as sessional instructors in various education programs. As an academic sessional instructor, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality learning and teaching practices, including tutorials, lectures, and assessments.
- Main Responsibilities:
- Conduct tutorials/lectures to the standard of the School, preparing lesson plans and facilitating student engagement.
- Consult with students on readings, topics, and upcoming assessments.
- Assist with assessment administration, such as marking, entering results, and providing feedback.
- Attend meetings as required by the Course Coordinator/Program Coordinator.
- Identify students at risk through thorough tutorial attendance recording.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Qualifications:
- A minimum of an undergraduate qualification or higher, or equivalent professional experience.
- Teaching Experience:
- Prior teaching experience at the tertiary level, with a sound understanding of pedagogical and/or adult learning principles.
- Skills and Qualities:
- Demonstrated ability to deal effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including ability to foster high levels of collegiality and empathy.
- Proven ability to assess priorities, manage workload, and meet deadlines in a busy education environment.
