Gain hands-on experience in sustainable agriculture and conservation practices in the unique ecosystem of the Galapagos Islands.
About the Role:- Maintain, design, and implement sustainable agriculture systems and permaculture systems.
- Contribute to research and data collection to support the development of autonomous, resilient, chemical-free, regenerative, and profitable agriculture in the Galapagos.
- Valuable experience in sustainable agriculture and conservation practices.
- Meaningful relationships with locals while living with a host family.
- Opportunity to pursue research or dissertation projects if requested.
The Galapagos Islands are one of the most biodiverse regions on Earth, home to unique species such as Galapagos penguins and giant tortoises. However, the islands face challenges like a lack of food security, reliance on imports, invasive species consuming local resources, and limited seed-saving practices for native species.
This internship offers a chance to collaborate with a farm that has been researching sustainable agriculture practices and is an agro-ecology school.
