Key Responsibilities:- Construct and Install Frameworks: Build and install frameworks for walls, floors, and ceilings according to blueprints and specifications.
- Measure and Cut Materials: Accurately measure, cut, and shape wood and other materials using hand and power tools.
- Assemble and Install Fixtures: Install doors, windows, cabinets, countertops, and other fixtures with precision and attention to detail.
- Perform Repairs and Maintenance: Repair and maintain existing wooden structures and fixtures to ensure they remain functional and aesthetically pleasing.
- Interpret Blueprints and Technical Drawings: Read and interpret detailed blueprints and technical drawings to determine project requirements and dimensions.
- Ensure Quality Workmanship: Conduct quality checks on completed work to ensure it meets or exceeds project specifications and standards.
- Follow Safety Procedures: Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols to maintain a safe working environment and prevent accidents.
- Collaborate with Other Trades: Work effectively with other construction professionals, such as electricians and plumbers, to coordinate tasks and complete projects efficiently.
- Maintain Tools and Equipment: Keep tools and equipment in good working condition, performing regular maintenance and repairs as needed.
- Communicate with Clients: Interact with clients to understand their needs, provide project updates, and address any questions or concerns they may have.
- Experience: 6 years in carpentry. Completed apprenticeship. Residential carpentry experience is preferred.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Cert 3 in Carpentry: Required.
- Skills: Proficiency in using hand and power tools, excellent measuring and cutting skills, and the ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift heavy materials, stand for long periods, and work in various weather conditions.
- Communication: Good verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively with clients and team members.
- Safety Conscious: Knowledge of safety regulations and practices related to carpentry and construction work.
- Work Hours: Monday through Friday. Hours can range from 6:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Plenty of OT.
- Compensation: Permanent position. Paying between 45-50hr plus OT.
- Benefits: You will be working with a boutique firm located in Burpengary, but is project based.
