The Opportunity

The Tasman Hobart is now seeking a highly skilled and experienced Night Duty Manager to join our team. We're looking for a hospitality professional who has a passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences while undertaking administrative and communication duties.

If you have experience in a similar role, possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and are able to multitask, problem-solve, and work calmly under pressure, then this may be the opportunity for you.

Key Accountabilities

As a Night Duty Manager, you will be responsible for processing guest check-ins, check-outs, room assignments, and room change/late check-out requests, securing payment, activating/reissuing room keys, and resolving guest calls. You will provide consistent outstanding guest service in everything you do.

  • Utilize interpersonal and communication skills to lead, influence, and encourage others; advocate sound financial/business decision making; demonstrate honesty/integrity; lead by example.
  • Supervise and manage employees. Manage all day-to-day operations. Understand employee positions well enough to perform duties in employees' absence.
  • Establish and maintain open, collaborative relationships with employees and ensure employees do the same within the team.
  • Review financial statements, sales and activity reports, and other performance data to measure productivity and goal achievement and to determine areas needing cost reduction and program improvement.
  • Assist in the response and resolution of all guest issues received directly from guests or from Guest Relations.
  • Monitor that the supervisor is researching/processing all chargebacks and rebates on a timely basis.
  • Handle complaints, settling disputes, and resolving grievances and conflicts, or otherwise negotiating with others.
  • Maintain a strong working relationship with all departments to support property operations and goals and to expedite the resolution of any problems that may arise through the general operation of the property.

Profile

  • Previous experience as a Front Office Duty Manager.
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication skills.
  • Thorough follow-up, strong attention to detail, and problem-solving skills are a must.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to emotionally connect with guests and provide superior levels of service.
  • Conflict resolution experience.
  • Must have the flexibility to work on a 24-hour rotating roster including public holidays and weekends.
  • Experience of OPERA property management system is a distinct advantage.
  • Must have full working rights for Australia.
