Student Support Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated individual to support students with additional needs in our educational setting.
- The successful candidate will work under the direction of a teacher, predominantly supporting students with neurological and learning disorders, physical disabilities, and behavioral disorders.
This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to the lives of students, enhancing their learning experience and helping them reach their full potential.
You will collaborate with the class teacher to reinforce classroom teaching, assist students with organisation, social competence, accessing activities, and appropriate behavior. You may also undertake supervision of the class to enable the teacher to spend time supporting students who have additional needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement teaching and learning strategies, such as one-on-one or small group instruction, co-operative learning, scaffolding, modeling, and worked examples.
- Assist students in various areas, including organisation, social competence, accessing activities, and appropriate behavior.
- Work collaboratively with the class teacher to reinforce classroom teaching.
Requirements:
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to implement teaching and learning strategies.
- Compassionate and patient approach when working with students with additional needs.
