Strategic Finance Lead - Defence Capability

The Strategic Finance Lead will play a key role in shaping the financial strategy for Defence capability, working closely with senior leaders to provide trusted advice and assurance on major national operations and initiatives.

This is an exciting opportunity for an emerging leader who is committed to helping shape the future of Defence capability investment. You will have sound experience leading and developing teams, and a naturally influential communication style.

  • Financial advice to senior officials on Cabinet submissions, in the context of the individual submission and the department's financial position.
  • Critical financial support to major capability/budget activities including the Defence Structure Review and bi-annual reviews of the Integrated Investment Program.
  • Management of the Integrated Investment Program's financial system data, data quality controls, and budget management improvements.
  • Responses to Integrated Investment Program audits of financial management.
  • Monthly reporting of Defence's Integrated Investment Program capability plan internally and to external Government Agency stakeholders.

We provide trusted independent financial advice and assurance on the Integrated Investment Program, working closely with senior leaders to shape major national operations and initiatives.

  • Financial advice to senior officials on Cabinet submissions.
