Job Description:

The role of an Orientation and Mobility Specialist in Dubbo involves providing O&M services to support individuals with vision impairment. The objective is to enhance their independence in daily activities.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments for individualized Orientation and Mobility programs
  • Plan instructional, client-centered Orientation and Mobility training across various environments
  • Train clients in orientation techniques and mobility skills
  • Evaluate a client's O&M skills to ensure their safety

Essential Experience:
  • Tertiary qualification in Orientation & Mobility and current Certification of Orientation and Mobility Specialists (COMS)
  • Able to travel regularly by car and domestic flights for overnight stays
  • Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients and others
