Job Title: Orientation and Mobility Expert

**Key Responsibilities**: We are seeking a skilled professional to assess and plan comprehensive Orientation and Mobility programs for individuals with vision impairment. The ideal candidate will train clients in orientation and mobility techniques across various environments, ensuring their safety and independence.

We require the successful applicant to monitor and evaluate client O&M skills, develop effective communication and professional relationships with clients, families, and colleagues, and contribute to an inclusive workplace that values diversity and inclusion.

  • Develop and implement customized Orientation and Mobility programs to enhance clients' independence and confidence in navigating diverse environments.
  • Collaborate with clients, families, and colleagues to understand individual needs and goals, and provide tailored guidance and support.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards, and maintain accurate records of client progress and program effectiveness.

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualification in Orientation & Mobility, current completion of COMS, and proven expertise in the field.
  • Able to travel regularly by car and domestic flight for overnight stays.
  • Excellent communication, time management, and interpersonal skills.
