The Role: Mine Geologist

This role involves conducting day-to-day mine geology activities, including face mapping, face sampling, and updating plans and sections with geology data. Additionally, you will assist in wall and backs mapping of all capital and ore development to ensure regulatory compliance and monitor geotechnical conditions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct day-to-day mine geology activities such as face mapping, sampling, and updating geological data.
  • Assist in wall and backs mapping for regulatory compliance and monitoring geotechnical conditions.
  • Collect structural measurements on each face, wall, and back mapping, and core logging.
  • Interpret the deposit's structure, lithology, alteration, and mineralisation through quality face and wall mapping and sampling, and core logging.
  • Document and communicate underground geology activities to ensure alignment with efficient mining cycles.
  • Provide geological information for accurate reporting of daily and weekly ore trucking movement and surface stockpile balances.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science (Geology) or equivalent qualification from a recognised institution.
  • Minimum one year experience in a similar role.
  • Previous use of mining software, including Micromine, Leapfrog, and Geobank.
  • Member of AIG, AusIMM, or similar professional body.
  • Awareness of Workplace Health and Safety Act & Regulations.
  • ERT experience and willingness to join ERT is preferred.
  • Current manual driver's Licence.
  • Current First Aid certificate.
