Job Description

Shape the future of emergency services in South Australia, based in Adelaide. Lead a team to ensure volunteers and employees receive necessary resources and support.

Work closely with Chief Officers of SA Metropolitan Fire Service, Country Fire Service, and State Emergency Service to develop and manage a risk-based emergency management framework for South Australia within a national context.

Initiate sector improvements, maintain key capabilities such as Public Information and Warning Systems and the State Emergency Information Call Centre Capability.

Collaborate with stakeholders, engage with volunteer associations and unions to support ESS capabilities.

  • Develop and manage a risk-based emergency management framework for South Australia.
  • Develop and maintain a strategic policy framework supported by risk management strategies and systems.
  • Collaborate with the Chief Officers of SA Metropolitan Fire Service, Country Fire Service, and State Emergency Service.
  • Lead sector improvements and advancements, including Public Information and Warning Systems and the State Emergency Information Call Centre Capability.
Qualifications/Experience

Dynamic leadership with relevant experience and expertise to support the Minister for Emergency Services and Correctional Services under the Fire and Emergency Services Act 2005 (SA).
