Job Overview
Main Responsibilities- Provide expert advice and support for mental health programs
- Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments and deliver evidence-based treatments
- Participate in clinical supervision and multidisciplinary consultations
- Assist with the design and development of assessment and treatment tools
- Prepare detailed reports including parole board submissions and psychological advice
- Develop strong partnerships with internal staff, community organizations, and local stakeholders
- Promote continuous improvement and innovation in psychological services
- Professional registration with AHPRA as a Psychologist (provisional through senior registration levels)
- Postgraduate experience delivering individual counselling, ideally within correctional, welfare, or institutional settings
- The ability to integrate theories of mental health and forensic risk assessment frameworks into clinical practice
- A caring nature and commitment to prisoner rehabilitation, including completing risk assessments, delivering individual therapeutic counselling, and preparing defendable documentation
- The highest levels of personal integrity and ethical behaviour
- A solid understanding of evidence-based practices in the assessment and intervention of diverse psychological and behavioural presentations
- Knowledge of social and clinical variables associated with significant offense categories is desirable
- A demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
