Heavy Engine Technician Role

We are seeking a skilled professional to diagnose and repair diesel engines, as well as perform general maintenance work on trucks, trailers, and 4x4s.

  • Diagnose and repair diesel engines, including major and minor rebuilds
  • Perform general repairs and maintenance work on vehicles
  • Replace vehicle engines, steering mechanisms, transmissions, and braking systems
  • Work on mobile plant and equipment
  • Check vehicle lighting systems
  • Test drive vehicles to gauge performance
  • Maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles
  • Adhere to inspection procedure checklists

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A relevant trade qualification (e.g. diesel fitting or mechanical)
  • Diagnostic experience
  • Good communication skills
  • Experience working on mobile plant and equipment
  • Highway truck or heavy earthmoving experience is beneficial
  • A heavy rigid license
  • Strong fault-finding skills
  • The ability to work as part of a team
