Join Our Livestock Career Advancement Initiative

 

This role offers the opportunity to participate in a livestock career development program designed for top talent. The 24-month program is based at our Warrnambool branch and will provide you with the skills and training needed to become a future leader or technical expert within the livestock industry.

  • The program is tailored to equip you with valuable experience in all aspects of the livestock activity while completing an in-house certificate in livestock marketing.
  • You will be involved in four leadership and skill-building workshops, receive on-the-ground training, and have mentors assigned to guide you throughout your journey.

 

During the program, you will have the chance to work in both saleyard and branch environments, being mentored and guided by experienced livestock employees and leaders. You will learn effective selling and relationship-building techniques, as well as gain exposure to various livestock skills, including next-generation stock and station agency skills, livestock productivity, animal health and nutrition, auctions, and emerging technology.

 

Upon completion of the program, you may be required to relocate or have the opportunity to move locations to ensure you get the most out of your experience. Placement mobility is also available.

Key Skills and Qualifications
  • Strong desire to learn and succeed in the livestock industry
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Strong negotiation abilities
  • Successful completion of Year 12
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in the agricultural industry, preferably in livestock
  • Will to relocate
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Willingness to learn, strong communication, and problem-solving skills, and leadership potential
  • Genuine interest and desire to work and learn about the livestock industry
