The Role

We are seeking a highly experienced structural engineer at Associate Director level to join our transport structures team. This role will see you providing technical leadership and contributing to the delivery of major infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership and direction on design activities associated with transport structures such as bridges, culverts, retaining walls, gantries and tunnels.
  • Develop and implement design criteria, calculations, plans, and specifications for major infrastructure projects.
  • Serve as a Proof Engineer and lead teams executing proof engineering services.
  • Manage the development of structural asset management deliverables including reports, drawings, models, and specifications.
  • Collaborate closely with local, national, and global teams to leverage expertise and deliver integrated solutions.
  • Drive innovation within the team and mentor junior engineers and team members.
  • Represent the company in the market and contribute to business growth and establishing technical leadership.
  • Actively lead the company's commitment to Safety and Quality.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related discipline.
  • Chartered membership of Engineers Australia (Structures) and listing on the National Engineering Register.
  • Registered Professional Engineer Victoria (RPEV).
  • 20+ years of structural engineering experience focused on bridges and transport structures, with strong consulting and project delivery background.
  • Proven ability to lead design teams and manage complex projects.
  • Deep knowledge of Australian and Victorian bridge design standards and technical requirements.
  • Proficiency in structural and asset management software tools such as Midas Civil, SpaceGass, Strand 7, SBD, and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, able to work effectively in multidisciplinary and diverse teams.
  • Highly motivated, self-directed, and a strong team player with excellent coordination skills.
