Senior Communications Specialist

Job Description
We are seeking a dynamic Media Relations Leader to shape and execute the external media content strategy for our organization in the Pacific market.
The ideal candidate is a confident adviser to senior executives, with a strong network of relationships across relevant media, and who understands the needs of media.
Key Responsibilities:
- Aligning media relations focus and activities with business objectives and sales and growth priorities
- Providing strategic counsel on reputational issues
- Writing high-quality press materials
- Developing and managing relationships with reporters
- Horizon scanning the news agenda for issues and breaking news that we could respond to
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you will require:
- A minimum of eight years' financial services experience in senior media relations or journalism
- A strong existing network of business journalists
- Strong prioritisation and multitasking skills in dynamic and challenging situations
- Commitment to rigor and ensuring communications meet high standards
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a team and take individual responsibility for outcomes
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills
- Experience in managing reputational risk and providing strategic advice
