Occupational Therapist Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join our team. In this rewarding role, you will deliver high-quality, resident-focused occupational therapy services to both residential and transitional care program customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough assessments of residents' capabilities and preferences, and develop achievable goals for rehabilitation and treatment.
  • Support residents in achieving their goals while maximizing their functional capacity for daily activities.
  • Prescribe appropriate aids and equipment as needed to enhance residents' independence and quality of life.
  • Maintain effective communication with residents, their families, and the multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Supervise and support therapy assistants to ensure seamless delivery of services.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to address concerns and requests from residents' families and other caregivers.

Requirements:

  • Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as an Occupational Therapist is essential.
  • Previous experience as an OT in aged care is desirable.
  • Proven ability to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate quality care that meets the needs of elderly clients.
  • Empathy and strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with other health professionals and service providers.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills to navigate complex situations.
