About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Design Director to lead our Design team in the development and implementation of specialist components of the Parkville Precinct Redevelopment (PPR) at a critical executive leadership level.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the Design team to develop and implement design solutions for the PPR project
  • Oversee, advise, and collaborate with multi-disciplinary project teams, including external consultants
  • Brief and advise the Executive Director and other senior VHBA and Departmental executives
  • Develop and manage formal and informal communications and networks across all project design elements
  • Support the PPR Executive team in leading and managing all design aspects within the approved budget and scope
Requirements
  • Extensive experience in Health and Building Projects with proven experience working on Government Projects with the detailed design process
  • Experience in leading safety in design risks and issues identification and resolution, in consultation with stakeholders
  • Extensive experience articulating and presenting complex technical schemes/options/proposals simply and succinctly to enable management and other semi-technical stakeholders
  • Proven expertise to develop and manage formal and informal communications and networks across all project design elements
  • Demonstrated financial acumen across a broad range of infrastructure areas with a comprehensive understanding of the Government operating context as it applies to the infrastructure industry
  • Tertiary (Bachelor or higher) qualification in Design, Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline and/or extensive experience within similar project delivery environments
