Unlocking Autonomy in Maritime and Air Domain Systems

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to play a key role in developing cutting-edge uncrewed systems that leverage unsupervised autonomy for long endurance, multi-mission capability.

The Extra Large Autonomous Undersea Vehicle (XL-AUV) Program is one such project that requires your expertise in software development. As a subject matter expert, you will work closely with our team to architect, design, deliver, support, and evolve next generation capabilities through the entire product life-cycle.

You will be responsible for:

  • Providing technical leadership and expertise in areas related to software-enabled capabilities, including hardware selection, compute, storage and network architecture, service orchestration, application logic, and other software concerns.
  • Collaborating with end-users to drive solutions that balance their needs with external constraints, restrictions, and requirements in a multi-stakeholder environment.
  • Designing and implementing scalable software that rapidly delivers capability beyond the scope of current platforms, with a clear path for both architecture and capability evolution over time.
  • Contributing to the design and development of existing software services across our organization, with the aim of developing components that are re-usable across multiple product lines.

Requirements include a Bachelor's degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience, extensive professional experience working as a Software Engineer, and the ability to obtain and maintain an Australian Government Security Clearance.
