Job Requirements

  • Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in General and Acute Medicine.
  • Contribute to the provision of high-quality inpatient and outpatient care to public and private patients the hospital in General Medicine.
  • Actively involved in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, as well as trainee and IMG supervision and mentoring Be involved in research and undertake quality improvement activities.
  • Actively support and participate in service development to improve current services and develop new services in the Department of General Medicine.

What You Will Get

A competitive remuneration package comprising the Agreement base salary, relevant allowances and other entitlements will be negotiated with the successful applicant dependent on clinical experience and seniority.

Base salary points range for Specialist Medical Practitioner Level 1 at $210,000 through to Specialist Medical Practitioner Level 11 at $288,000 with further salary increments available.

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

  • Management allowance, 10% of Base Salary, pro rata
  • Allowance in lieu of motor vehicle currently set at $27,535 pro rata per annum, paid fortnightly (with CPI indexation on 1 July each year).
  • Continuing Professional Development Allowance of $16,000 per annum pro rata.
  • On call allowance 8% of Base Salary.
  • Superannuation of 11%. All other allowances as per current Award.
  • Subject to approval from the Private Patient Scheme Committee (PPS), 35% of Base salary plus on-call, pro rata) of additional payment will be paid from (PPS). If not admitted to the PPS, a 35% in lieu of PPS of base salary will be paid.
  • Access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
  • Accommodation and relocation costs, to be negotiated upon successful appointment.
