">Our dedicated team of veterinary professionals strives to deliver exceptional patient care and support in a collaborative environment. We are seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician Specialist (Emergency & Critical Care) to join our team in Adelaide, working closely with our Criticalists and emergency vets.
">About the Position
">This is a full-time, permanent position with flexibility across a 7-day roster required. The successful candidate will be responsible for:
">- ">
- Providing high-standard intensive care to critical, vulnerable, and dynamic hospitalised patients in the ICU">
- Assisting with and/or performing advanced interventions such as placement of central, PICC and arterial lines, direct arterial pressure monitoring, urinary catheter placement, feeding tube placement, high flow nasal oxygen provision, and mechanical ventilation">
- Participating in and leading CPR resuscitation efforts">
- Assisting with admissions and discharges from the ICU">
- Demonstrating strong written and verbal communication skills">
- Conducting and collecting various laboratory samples for internal and external analysis">
- Assisting with transfer to and reception of critical care referrals from general practice veterinarians">
- Supporting the emergency department with triage and procedural responsibilities">
- Assisting with critical care anaesthesia in collaboration with anaesthetists within the SASH network">
Requirements and Qualifications
">The ideal candidate will have obtained or be close to obtaining the Veterinary Technician Specialist (Emergency & Critical Care) credential, with a minimum of 5 years of full-time experience as a qualified nurse, including previous experience in Emergency, ICU or referral medicine.
