Senior Underwriter, Financial Institutions Specialist

Job Opportunity:
Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance is seeking a skilled underwriter to join our Executive & Professional lines team, specializing in Financial Institutions.
We are looking for individuals who possess excellent analytical skills, a strong understanding of financial markets, and the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with brokers and customers.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and growing a book of business, developing and implementing underwriting strategies, and working closely with our in-house claims team to provide a positive customer experience.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Manage and grow a book of financial lines business.
- Develop and implement underwriting strategies to achieve business objectives.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with brokers and customers.
- Underwrite assigned accounts while ensuring appropriate analysis and documentation.
- Work in a fast-paced, bottom-line-oriented environment, multi-task, and make quick decisions while maintaining underwriting integrity.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- At least 5 years of financial lines underwriting experience.
- Solid underwriting fundamentals with specialties in Financial Institutions.
- Demonstrated understanding of financial analysis and financial markets.
- Existing broker and customer relationships, or the experience and ability to develop strong relationships quickly.
