About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic General Medicine Specialist to lead and mentor medical staff in our growing department. As the successful applicant, you will be based in Tasmania's largest hospital and major referral centre, where you will collaborate with the University of Tasmania and other institutions to deliver excellence in healthcare.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the provision of high-quality inpatient and outpatient care to public and private patients in General Medicine.
  • Provide professional leadership to medical, nursing, and allied health staff and foster interdisciplinary teamwork.
  • Be actively involved in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, as well as trainee and IMG supervision and mentoring.
  • Be involved in research and undertake quality improvement activities.
  • Actively support and participate in service development to improve current services and develop new services in the Department of General Medicine.

The Package

A remuneration package comprising the Agreement base salary, relevant allowances, and other entitlements will be negotiated with the successful applicant dependent on clinical experience and seniority. Access to the Senior Specialist Medical Practitioner salary range and other allowances may also be available.
