Regulatory Design Leader

We are seeking a highly skilled professional to lead our Regulatory Design team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping Australia's energy future by developing and implementing regulatory frameworks that support the transition to net zero emissions.

This is an exciting opportunity for a talented individual who wants to make a real impact in the energy sector. As the Director, you will be responsible for leading the design of energy regulatory frameworks, codes, and guidelines that align with national objectives and market evolution. You will provide expert advice to internal and external stakeholders on regulatory approaches, risks, and policy implications, as well as collaborate with industry, governments, and consumer bodies to develop and co-design robust, evidence-based regulations.

Your Key Responsibilities:
  • Providing expert advice to internal and external stakeholders on regulatory approaches, risks, and policy implications;
  • Leading the design of energy regulatory frameworks, codes, and guidelines that align with national objectives and market evolution;
  • Representing the interests of the organization; building and managing stakeholder relationships with industry bodies, Government agencies (Commonwealth and State), consumer groups, and internal stakeholders;
  • Identifying, contributing, and leading initiatives to improve workflows and processes.
About You

To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in economics, corporate finance, law, public policy, engineering or related fields or equivalent experience;
  • A strong understanding of regulatory frameworks and policies in the energy sector;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • The ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, including industry bodies, government agencies, and consumer groups.
