About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Project Engineer to join our thriving Sydney office. As a key member of our Water team, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise and leading technical teams to develop and deliver innovative solutions for major water and wastewater projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure construction delivery quality against design intents and support testing, construction monitoring, and commissioning activities.
  • Plan, program, coordinate, and deliver studies, investigations, and design work to meet project needs and quality standards.
  • Develop strong working relationships with clients by delivering valuable business solutions and understanding their business needs.
  • Liaise with Project Managers to set and maintain budgets and ensure project managers are informed of timing, costs, and other pertinent issues.
  • Lead and manage proposal development, including preparing value propositions, methodologies, fee estimates, risk reviews, and arranging legal reviews.
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent field, along with CPEng (or ability to obtain).
  • Minimum 6-8 years of mechanical/infrastructure engineering experience, with a strong preference in construction (or minimum 10 years without construction experience).
  • Leadership abilities, including managing subcontractors and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Knowledge of water and wastewater services and the delivery environment.
  • Highly developed problem-solving and negotiation skills to resolve disputes.
  • Strong understanding of D&C or alternative delivery projects.
  • Solid report writing skills with the ability to tell a compelling story.
