Collections Data and Information Manager

The Art Gallery of New South Wales is seeking a highly skilled Collections Data and Information Manager to oversee the management of its collection management system (CMS). This is a key role that requires strong technical and analytical skills, as well as excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the Collection Management System (CMS): Ensure data integrity is maintained and develop sustainable policies, procedures, and workflows to improve the system.
- Support Data Integration: Collaborate with stakeholders to integrate data from various sources and ensure seamless data flow.
- Manage Documentation: Oversee the creation, maintenance, and dissemination of documentation related to the CMS.
- Provide Strategic Advice: Offer expert guidance on the future direction of the CMS and ensure it remains the primary repository for data related to the Art Gallery's collections and programs.
- Strong Experience in Relational Databases: Administering relational databases and possessing a tertiary qualification in Information Studies, Museum Studies, Art, or a related field.
- Leadership and Team Management: Experience in managing and leading a team, with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Technical and Analytical Skills: Demonstrated ability to drive process improvement and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- SQL Experience: Desired but not essential.
- Describe Your Experience: Overseeing a relational database, including specific systems worked with and methods used to ensure data integrity.
- Championing Data Use: Describe a key project where you promoted and championed the use of data in a collaborative environment, including challenges faced and solutions implemented.
