About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Financial Accountant to join our team at Coles Group. As a key member of our finance team, you will play a critical role in supporting our group supermarket business and ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of onshore financial accounting activities, including month-end close activities, for Supers and Group.
  • Work on the delivery of Balance Sheet reconciliations and journals in compliance with Coles policy.
  • Support business and internal stakeholders on ad-hoc projects requiring financial and technical accounting assistance, as well as involvement in new business opportunities or initiatives.
  • Deliver financial controls governance testing as required under the Financial Controls Governance program for Supers/Group.

About You

We are looking for someone with extensive experience in a financial control role or an external role, who can deliver commercial outcomes with a high level of energy and pace. You will need:

  • CA/CPA or similar qualification with a tertiary accounting qualification.
  • Experience working in one of the big 4 or in a large-scale corporate business, ideally in retail or FMCG.
  • Proven experience of working and coordinating with a diverse range of stakeholders, with the ability to effectively work cross-functionally.
  • Strong interpersonal, influencing, and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of current accounting standards.
