Early Fire Detection Specialist

  • We are seeking an Early Fire Detection Specialist to join our team. This is a vital role that requires the ability to detect fires early and report them to our base.

  • The successful candidate will have excellent map reading and navigation skills, be able to locate fires using compass bearings and distance estimates, and be comfortable working at heights and in isolated locations.

  • They will also have confidence in operating two-way radios and communications equipment, and be physically fit to perform the demands of this role.

  • In addition, they will need to pass a pre-employment medical/functional capacity and fitness assessment, have or be able to obtain working at heights training, and have a current driver's licence and access to reliable transportation.

Job Description

As an Early Fire Detection Specialist, you will play a critical role in the prevention and response to fires within our forest plantations and surrounding communities.

You will work as part of a team to monitor for signs of fire, provide early detection and reporting, and assist with fire suppression efforts when necessary.

This role requires a high level of physical fitness, good communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
