Job Role Summary

This position involves overseeing all aspects of commissioning substations to ensure successful project delivery. As a senior professional, you will be responsible for scheduling, planning, and executing commissioning activities.

The role requires coordinating the commissioning of primary and secondary equipment within a substation. Additionally, you will assist in preparing HV system designs for projects and bids under preparation. This may involve creating FAT and SAT documentation for installations to be commissioned.

You will also be involved in carrying out pre-commissioning tests and commissioning of new and refurbished parts and systems. Furthermore, managing and supervising on-site work in accordance with project requirements and legislative and regulatory requirements is a key aspect of this role.

Your responsibilities will include providing timely 'As Built' documentation. You will work closely with various teams to ensure that projects are completed efficiently and effectively.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will possess relevant qualifications in an Electrical Trade or Associate Diploma or Electrical Engineering Degree.

  • Experience with Omicron CMC/CPC100/Testrano/CTA equipment is essential;
  • Knowledge of CT/VT and transformer testing is required;
  • HV cable testing experience is necessary;
  • Proficiency in protection relay and software using Micom, Siemens, SEL, and ABB is essential;
  • SCADA/61850 and networking experience would be beneficial;
  • You must be comfortable with travel and working outside of your designated area;
  • Developing tenders, negotiating contracts, and managing customer relationships are also important skills;
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills are required.
