We are seeking a highly motivated individual to fill the role of Housing Officer. The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing sustainable tenancies with our client base and undertaking property management duties.

About the Role:
  • This is an exciting opportunity for someone with awareness of Aboriginal cultures and the issues affecting Aboriginal people in contemporary Australia.

The ideal candidate will bring a client-centred focus to the role while being able to work within the legislative framework. They will also have the ability to work autonomously and operate at a high level of personal responsibility.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Establish Sustainable Tenancies: Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients, ensuring their needs are met and their experiences are enhanced.
  2. Property Management Duties: Undertake various tasks related to property management, including inspections, maintenance, and repairs.

In addition to these responsibilities, the successful candidate will be required to travel to our Ballarat office and other locations as needed.

Requirements:
  • Awareness and appreciation of Aboriginal societies and cultures
  • Knowledge of tenancy and property management requirements of an Aboriginal housing provider or public housing provider
  • Demonstrated capacity to work autonomously and operate at a high level of personal responsibility
  • Experience working effectively with clients with complex needs
