Senior Farm Operations Manager

Job Summary:

This is a full time role reporting to the company owner. It involves planning and administration of programs, special projects and support services of a large commercial beef farm.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collecting and analysing data of farm properties/ infrastructure
  • Documentation of observed property/ infrastructure defects, and management thereof
  • Development of action lists, reviewing and negotiating variations with suppliers and subcontractors
  • Coordination of subcontractor activity across all current and future projects on properties
  • Ensure site induction procedures adhered to when required
  • Responding to enquiries and resolving problems concerning contracts, programs, projects, services provided, and persons affected
  • Management of invoices and progress claims, reporting information to company owner
  • Working with tradesmen, farm hands, engineering and building professionals, owners and others to ensure goals are met
  • Coordination of requests for information (RFI's)
  • Project cost management in accordance with outlined budgets

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • Relevant qualification at level of a bachelors degree or higher
  • A minimum 3 years of relevant work experience may substitute for formal qualifications
  • Tertiary education coupled with work experience is favoured
  • Experience in managing complex construction developments
  • High level of computer literacy and advanced competence in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Proven experience managing people
  • Experience working with power tools, operating plant, small trucks and tractors

Benefits:

A salary of between $70-$100k depending on experience.
