Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Dental Therapist or Oral Health Specialist to join our team at the Northern Territory Government. As a key member of our Oral Health Services, you will provide comprehensive clinical treatment, community education, and targeted programs to improve the oral health of Territorians.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality clinical treatment to patients, including routine check-ups, fillings, and extractions.
  • Develop and implement community education programs to promote good oral health practices.
  • Conduct targeted programs to address specific oral health issues, such as tooth decay and gum disease.
  • Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients.
  • Participate in quality improvement activities to ensure the delivery of contemporary and evidence-based practice.
Requirements
  • Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency as a Dental Therapist or Oral Health Therapist.
  • Ability to gain a radiographers permit in the Northern Territory.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of evidence-based clinical practices and techniques.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of health promotion and primary health care principles.
  • Awareness and understanding of Aboriginal culture.
