About This Job
  • The successful applicant will lead the development of innovative teaching programs, leveraging their expertise to enhance student outcomes and teacher capacity.

As an Assistant Principal hearing (itinerant) position, this role is based at a school serving students from Early Intervention through to Higher School Certificate level, requiring a high degree of autonomy and adaptability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive improvement in teaching and learning practices, focusing on accessibility and inclusivity.
  • Design and implement quality teaching programs that cater to the unique needs of students with hearing impairments.
  • Build and manage teams, developing leaders who can drive change and foster a culture of excellence.
  • Develop strategic communication plans to engage stakeholders, including students, staff, parents, and external partners.
  • Effectively allocate resources to support teaching and learning initiatives, ensuring equity and access for all students.
Requirements
  • Approval to teach Hearing Impairment (Itinerant)
  • Expertise in or willingness to develop AUSLAN and assistive communication skills.
  • Demonstrated experience teaching students across various age groups, from Early Intervention to Higher School Certificate level.
  • Ability to lead, supervise, evaluate, and mentor a team of Itinerant Support Teachers Hearing.
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills to build strong relationships with families, schools, and external agencies.
