Job Opportunity

We are seeking expressions of interest from eligible and suitably qualified individuals for appointment as a Magistrate to the Magistrates Court.

Main Responsibilities
  • To exercise the functions of a Magistrate, as arranged by the Chief Magistrate.
  • Have jurisdiction under the Magistrates Court Act 1930 and other relevant legislation.
Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria, conditions, and terms of appointment for a Magistrate are outlined in the Magistrates Court Act 1930. The selection criteria for a Magistrate are detailed in the Magistrates Court (Magistrates Appointment Requirements) Determination 2009.
