Job Title: Software Engineering Manager

Riot Games is seeking an experienced Software Engineering Manager to join our Sydney-based VALORANT team.

About the Role

We are looking for a talented leader to oversee the technical direction, performance management, and growth opportunities for a team of engineers. As a Software Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for guiding engineers to grow in their careers and helping the team meet its product and technical goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of engineers to develop tools and systems for shipping new features and content to a live, tactical shooter on multiple platforms.
  • Collaborate with other teams throughout VALORANT to ensure alignment and success.
  • Participate in discussions about product vision and ensure that vision is clear to the team.
  • Demonstrate a high bar of craft excellence for the team.
  • Establish teams that are balanced, functional, and strongly aligned with Riot values.
  • Help ensure teams are healthy and motivated.
  • Handle tension within and around the team.
Requirements
  • 2+ years of experience directly leading a software delivery team as an Engineering Manager or Technical Lead.
  • 5+ years of experience as a hands-on software engineer.
  • Experience across multiple systems and languages.
  • Experience working in an agile environment.
  • Experience collaborating across departments and disciplines to create solutions.
Desired Qualifications
  • Professional experience building games, preferably with Unreal.
  • Professional experience releasing software, preferably on multiple platforms.
  • Experience working with C++, Golang, or C#.
