At Anton Murray Consulting, we are partnering with a leading global tier-one Wealth Management firm to find an exceptional Client Onboarding Associate to join their Account Management Team in Melbourne.

This is an exciting opportunity for experienced professionals to contribute to the growth and success of our client's business while working in a dynamic and supportive team environment.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Wealth Management / Retail Broking / Client Onboarding / KYC / AML, with a solid understanding of UK FSA regulations alongside Australian regulations.

This role is open to working holiday visa-holders as well as those with longer-term visas and residency.

  • For working holiday visas, candidates will be considered for a 6-month contract.
  • For longer-term visas and residents, candidates will be considered for a 12-month contract with potential to be extended or go permanent.
About the Role

As a Client Onboarding Associate, you will play a critical role in ensuring seamless account opening processes for clients, upholding high standards of due diligence, and fostering exceptional customer service. Your expertise in AML/KYC will be instrumental in identifying potential risks and escalating concerns to ensure regulatory compliance.

  • Review and approve client account documentation, enforcing current AML/KYC requirements and ensuring proper due diligence.
  • Process new account documentation and deliver tailored solutions that meet clients' needs with excellence.
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on AML/KYC standards and policies, serving as the primary point of contact for related queries and initiatives.
  • Provide guidance to advisers and support staff on complex matters related to account onboarding.
  • Facilitate screening requirements, assess customers, and identify potential risks such as Money Laundering, Terrorist Financing, Tax Evasion, and other threats.
  • Elevate regulatory concerns or exceptions to the AMT Manager for further review and discussion; conduct Enhanced Due Diligence when necessary.
About You

To succeed in this role, you will require:

  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent education or experience.
  • At least 3 years of experience in the financial services industry, preferably in Compliance or Risk within a private bank or onboarding/periodic review in a top-tier bank.
  • An understanding of global AML/KYC standards, particularly Australian and UK-FSA requirements.
  • Familiarity with CIP requirements for onboarding High-Risk clients is highly beneficial.
  • Prior retail broking client service, account opening/client onboarding experience.
  • Excellent attention to detail and acute awareness of risk.
  • A proactive nature, challenging and questioning processes to improve efficiency and mitigate risk.
  • Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
  • Effective organizational skills and ability to work under pressure.
What We Offer

This position comes with an attractive remuneration package of approximately $400-500 per day plus superannuation, commensurate with prior experience in relevant positions.
