Job Title: Director of Mathematics Instruction

This is a pivotal role that involves overseeing the mathematics curriculum across our Prep to Year 12 co-educational day school, serving approximately 900 students. Our staff are passionate and highly qualified individuals who work in partnership with parents to deliver the curriculum centered on God's plan for restoration under Jesus Christ.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to nurture and disciple our students, supporting their academic, social, emotional, and spiritual development. This position requires significant involvement in curriculum development, planning, and reflective classroom practice, as well as collaboration with the Head of Secondary School (HoSS) and Deputy Principal.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate programs of work across the mathematics area related to classroom activities.
  • Lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of teaching and learning programs.
  • Play a key role in collaborative planning, professional learning, and induction of mathematics teachers.
  • Develop your team to ensure quality teaching delivery to students.
  • Evaluate curriculum, teaching programs, and assessment procedures for compliance with NESA requirements and the school's framework.
  • Establish an effective climate of learning that fosters academic achievement.
  • Maintain a safe and positive classroom culture.

General Responsibilities:

  • Ensure a biblical worldview shapes your leadership and teaching practices.
  • Collaborate with Learning Support and Extension and Enrichment staff to provide additional support to students.
  • Ensure teachers implement effective practices to monitor student progress and academic standards within school guidelines.
  • Participate in and lead Professional Learning activities to enhance your own and your team's teaching practice.
  • Report concerns regarding student wellbeing to the HoSS.
  • Lead student events and maintain a positive uniform culture.
  • Communicate directly with parents when necessary.
