About the Role

As an Industrial Relations Strategist with the Victorian Department of Health, you will be responsible for overseeing and assisting with complex workplace relations matters in the public health sector. Your advanced role will involve leading enterprise bargaining negotiations, identifying emerging industrial relations risks, and promoting positive industrial outcomes.

This position is located within the Health Sector Industrial Relations Unit of the People Branch and primarily involves representing the Victorian government in public health sector enterprise bargaining. However, occasional alternative duties may be required within the broader branch.

Your Accountabilities

You will provide strategic input to the interpretation of government policies, legislation, and industrial relations initiatives. This includes reviewing, developing, and implementing policies and procedures to implement industrial agreements and legislation.

Expert advice will be provided on a broad range of industrial relations issues and other major risk factors impacting effective industrial relations outcomes.

Enterprise bargaining activities will be managed and conducted, including preparatory research, developing bargaining agendas, direct negotiations with unions and employers, and liaison across the department on industrial relations matters.

A first point of contact will be established for communications between the department and health sector representatives.
