Job Title: Family And Community Counsellor

Overview:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide empathetic and non-judgmental counselling services to families, children, and individuals, using evidence-based approaches that align with organisational policies and procedures.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of clients and develop targeted therapeutic goals, ensuring consistent and high-quality best practice models of counselling.
  • Collaborate effectively with other team members and participate in case discussions, fostering a culture of teamwork and open communication.
  • Manage client caseloads efficiently, meeting targets specified in funding and service agreements.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, contributing to organisational, program, and service objectives.
  • Provide overnight outreach services to remote locations, ensuring accessible support for all clients.

Qualifications:

  • Hold a relevant tertiary degree in Social Work, Psychology, or Behavioural Sciences.
  • Be eligible for membership of a relevant professional association.
  • Possess highly developed written and oral communication skills, enabling effective engagement with clients and colleagues.
  • Have experience delivering evidence-based therapeutic counselling interventions, with a focus on achieving positive outcomes.
  • Hold a current open driver's license, facilitating travel to outreach locations.
  • Obtain a current Working with Children Blue Card check and Disability Worker Screening/Clearance/Card, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Experience working with diverse populations and communities, promoting cultural sensitivity and awareness.
  • Experience delivering evidence-based therapeutic counselling interventions, with a focus on achieving positive outcomes.
