Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled professional to take on the role of Recreation Facilities and Services Officer. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting communities thrive.

In this position, you will work closely with Committees of Management to develop policies that promote community participation at recreation facilities across our region. You will also be responsible for driving projects that improve the capacity of local committees, ensuring that our recreation spaces are well supported.

This is a full-time, ongoing position based in Bairnsdale, with regular travel across the region required. If you have a strong background in project management, community engagement, and policy development, we encourage you to apply.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead Projects: Develop and implement projects that build the capacity of local Committees of Management.
  • Policy Development: Create and maintain policies, standards, and guidelines for recreation facilities and services.
  • Project Delivery: Support the planning, design, and delivery of key recreation projects.
  • Community Engagement: Build positive relationships with community groups, lessees, and stakeholders.
  • Research and Reporting: Undertake research and prepare reports to support effective decision making.
Required Skills and Qualifications:

The successful candidate will possess a tertiary qualification or experience in recreation planning or a related field. Strong project management and community engagement skills are essential, as well as the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders and Committees of Management.

Excellent communication, analytical, and organisational skills are also required.
